In 2018, they approached me to redesign and rebuild their website completely. The old site, built in 2013, was dated and no longer reflected their reputation for reliability, quality, and excellent customer service. The new build needed to:

- Provide a smoother customer journey for SMEs and start-ups.
- Integrate WooCommerce and Sage CRM for streamlined order management.
- Remain consistent with branding across the wider Buzz partner network.

Discovery & Planning
We began with in-depth discovery sessions to fully understand Buzz Connect's audience: SMEs and start-ups looking for scalable, affordable VOIP solutions.
The priorities were clear:

- Deliver a mobile-first experience, given that most users would be browsing on phones.
Accessible WordPress Design
Buzz Connect's old site struggled with accessibility and mobile layouts. The redesign focused on:

Knowledge Hub & Resource Filtering
The previous site had lots of VOIP content, but it wasn't structured for users. I created a custom post type for FAQs and resources, with a taxonomy split for pre-sales and after-sales queries.
A custom search and filter system made it easy for visitors to find relevant answers – reducing support load and increasing conversions.
Custom WooCommerce Plugin
To handle VOIP subscriptions, I developed a bespoke WooCommerce plugin using Vue.js.
- Customers could select packages, users, handsets, and add-on bundles.
- Orders are linked directly to Sage CRM.
- Abandoned orders were saved for the marketing team to follow up.
This gave Buzz Connect complete flexibility to sell and manage subscriptions directly in WordPress.
Streamlined CMS for the Team
The old site locked Buzz Connect into a rigid template system. I replaced it with a custom modular WordPress theme that allowed complete flexibility:
- Build new landing pages with drag-and-drop blocks.
- Update VOIP packages, images, and pricing instantly.
